Our vision at What Color Next is to be recognized for our commitment to promoting creativity through a judgement free approach to art. We strive to inspire and engage audiences with thought-provoking works and challenge others to be fearless in their artistic expression.
Matt Gracey
With a passion for art that is obvious from the first moment you meet him, Matt’s studio is an outward representation of his inner desire to pursue his love of painting, out loud and completely.
Matt is a self-taught abstract expressionist, his works are all about gestures, the movements, and choices of mediums. A deliberate and daily discovery. Working primarily in oils, he studies each canvas prior to priming, looking for what he describes as it’s “canvas destiny”. To watch him work is to know he can see that destiny and coax it to life. His images are bold in their initial presence with an underlying foundation of subtlety. He focuses on the pure joy of the act of painting, always pushing against rigid beliefs of what should or shouldn’t be. Paintings that seek to connect us through a no-rules, judgement free, pursuit of beauty.
